Mark Valko is the Instrumental and General Music teacher at Clear Spring Middle School. He also works with Clear Spring High School and Barbara Ingram School for the Arts as a Percussion Instructor, as well as Instrumental Music Instructor for the CATS program (Center for Artistically Talented Students) at Barbara Ingram School for the Arts.
Mr. Valko started playing guitar at age eight and first joined the band, playing clarinet in 4th grade. In college, took lessons on French horn and piano, but major instrument is Percussion. He is a graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor Degree in Music Education and earned a Master of Science in Education from Walden University. Mr. Valko came to Washington County in 1999 as band director for Hancock Middle-Senior High School.
