Shrek Quilt on display at Barbara Ingram
Shrek Quilt on display at Barbara Ingram
The tradition continues, by past Bisfa Foundation Board member, Rev. Ellie Doub. Every year Ellie creates a themed quilt that represent the All School Musical. This is her sixth quilt she has made and donated to the Foundation. The quilt is auctioned at the opening night reception held by the Foundation. For the past couple years, Brendan Fitzsimmons has been the top bidder and has given them back to the school to put on display.
The Shrek quilt is hanging on display in the Gallery of the school. Please stop in and take a look. After taking a look at this years quilt, Brendan Fitzsimmons replied; WOW she outdid herself!

PULL DOWN THE SHADES!
We are very excited to announce, that through a tremendously generous donation, the sculpture and drawing studios now have electric shades for the skylights! No longer will students need to struggle to see the projected image in a light filled room! No longer will teachers need to climb to the roof and cover the skylight windows with a tarp! No longer will teachers need to stand on the tiptop of the tallest step latter to fit cardboard into the windows! Teachers simply push a button and the room becomes dark. It’s like magic!

Blues Fest Feature Artist – Corey Householder
Blues Fest Feature Artist – Corey Householder
HAGERSTOWN, Md. – As the city of Hagerstown prepares for the 20th annual Western Maryland Blues Fest, the committee announced the feature artist and unveiled this year’s poster artwork.
This year’s feature artist is Corey Householder, a senior at the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts. His artwork was chosen during the committee’s blind selection.
“It’s such an amazing opportunity, especially to put yourself out there,” Householder said. “Not a lot of people get the opportunity to do that, and I just feel so grateful to have this opportunity.”
Committee members said they’re excited to have a young, local artist as this year’s winner. This was Corey’s first time submitting artwork.
His work will be used on all the 2015 Blues Fest promotional materials. He’ll also have a month-long exhibit at the local arts council.
Corey describes his artwork as “a lot of vibrant colors that scream out to the viewer…telling them that you need to go to this event because it’s really fun and says a lot about our community.”
This year’s Western Maryland Blues Fest will be held from May 29th to May 31st.
