The Carsons Scholars Fund has announced the Washington County students for 2013. Congratulations to Julia Martirano, grade 11, Musical Theatre student at Barbara Ingram School for the Arts. Julia will receive a $1000 college scholarship award and the honor of being named a Carson scholar. The 17th annual awards banquet will be held on Sunday, April 7 at Martin’s West in Woodlawn, Maryland. This is the first time scholar award for Julia.

The artwork that will represent this year’s 18th Annual Western Maryland Blues Fest was crafted by Erin Mettille, a senior at the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts! Erin’s piece was selected by the Blues Fest Committee out of 48 submissions – the largest response in the history of the contest

The Thomas L. Law Visual Arts Scholarship was established by his wife Sandra who said ” The person for whom this scholarship was named went to art school because of the generosity of another and that training made a large impact on his life”. This year two visual art scholarships will be chosen by a committee to attend the Summer Art Academy Visual Arts camp from July 29-August 1, 2013. The Scholarship application is available on our Arts Camp page.

The Foundation is proud to introduce this year’s Summer Arts Academy programs. Literary Arts is a new program this year.
The Haitian Boy’s Choir/Les Petits Chanteurs and instrumental ensemble performed for the students today, September 5, 2012. They will be performing this evening at St. John’s Episcopal Church at 7 pm.
The Barbara Ingram Foundation is thrilled to announce the donation from Mr. and Mrs. Jack B. Byers for a Black Box Chair.
